Get to Know Me!

Hi, I’m Alisa Horton! I’m passionate about helping dancers unlock their full potential through personalized private lessons. With 2 years as a collegiate dancer on the renowned Texas Southern University’s Motion of the Ocean Dance Team, where I served as the tail in my second year, and 16 years as a competitive gymnast, I bring a unique blend of technique, athleticism, and artistry to my teaching.

I began my dance journey at the Karen Kendrick Dance Academy in Fort Valley, GA, where I built a strong foundation in dance and discovered my passion for movement. I also danced with the Georgia Mass Band’s Sophisticated Jewels summer dance team, which further honed my skills and versatility.

Being part of the Motion of the Ocean taught me the importance of precision, confidence, and presence, especially as the tail, where I led by setting the tone and pace for the team. These experiences gave me expertise in mastering 8-counts, performing intricate routines, and embodying dynamic movement—skills I now share with my students.

My lessons are tailored to meet your unique goals, whether it’s improving flexibility, refining technique, or preparing for a team audition. I create a supportive and empowering environment where you feel inspired to grow and express yourself.

When I’m not teaching or dancing, I’m exploring music playlists for choreography inspiration or cheering on gymnastics competitions!

Let’s work together to take your skills to the next level—check out my services or book a private lesson today!
